FormatNumbers is a plug-in for Microsoft Outlook that has a very specific purpose: helping you put the telephone numbers in your Outlook contacts into a uniform, standardized format.
And what’s the point of having all the phone numbers with the same number? Easy: FormatNumbers helps you avoid all possible format problems when syncing this information with any mobile device, making data transfer quicker and easier.
FormatNumbers adds international prefixes, extension separators, parenthesis and other missing characters to make numbers readable and perfectly usable from your mobile phone. The plug-in adds a new toolbar to Outlook from which you can edit numbers one by one or in batches, and preview changes before applying them. FormatNumbers also includes some ready-made templates, to which you can add your own.
FormatNumbers is the kind of program that is useful, though not to a broad audience. The only thing we didn’t like about it is that we couldn’t customize any options during installation.
